New technology leadership at ideastream
ideastream recruits California-based broadcast industry professional to lead its technology efforts

June 29, 2017 (Cleveland) — ideastream has named Shadi Sabra its new chief technology director. On July 24, Sabra will take on the oversight of media and information technology, broadcast and digital distribution, engineering facilities and infrastructure services at ideastream.

Sabra currently holds the position of vice president of broadcast and technology at ValleyPBS (KVPT) in Fresno, Calif. where he is responsible for the management of ValleyPBS’s content distribution and broadcast operations. His national and international professional experience also includes media operations, post-production, distribution, engineering and maintenance services to meet national PBS standards and FCC compliance. 

Reporting to ideastream Chief Operating Officer Kit Jensen, Sabra will manage engineering, IT systems and the support and maintenance of the web for the multiple media public service organization. Sabra will be the first to hold the title of chief technology director at ideastream.

A multilingual professional, Sabra has served in the past as a media content and broadcasting consultant for Asia TV (Beirut), the general manager of MASS Com Media and Satellite Services, the senior technical consultant for Media Business Iraq and a senior engineer for Arabian Broadcasting Services. He holds a Master of Project Management from the Keller School of Management at DeVry University, a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in communication engineering from Lebanese International University, and a Cisco certification.
