Authorities say a 15-year-old boy is in custody and an arrest warrant is out for another teen in the fatal shooting of a 12-year-old over the long Thanksgiving weekend.

Abdel Bashiti was shot and killed on Buckeye Road on Friday, and five other teenagers were injured, officials said at a Monday evening news conference.

Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael O’Malley said his office is bringing aggravated murder and attempted murder charges. He said he will seek to move the case from juvenile to adult court.

Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams asked the public to call Crime Stoppers or the homicide unit with tips on this or other killings.

“And we’re going to do everything possible with our partners here to make sure we get on this and that we get these things solved,” Williams said. “But again, I have to stress, the public’s help is instrumental in solving a lot of these crimes.”
