Kasich Apparently Changes Gun Regulation Stance, And Dennis Kucinich Talks About His Run For Governor

The impact of the shooting deaths of 17 students and staff at a high school in Florida have been felt all over the nation, and here in Ohio. And comments about that shooting put Gov. John Kasich back in the national spotlight, because they appeared to be a major departure from his previous views on gun regulations, on the rare occasion that he shared those views.

The people who want to replace Kasich have also been talking about guns. This week, Democratic candidate for governor Dennis Kucinich called for a ban on assault weapons like the AR-15, which was used in the Florida school shooting. And he also said he’d launch a campaign to help communities that want to pass more gun regulations, which they can’t do now thanks to a state law pre-empting local ordinances on guns.

This week a series of conversations with the candidates for governor on the primary ballot continues with Kucinich, who stopped by to talk several days before the deadly Florida school shooting happened.
